Bulletin meets AAUW meets Middle School Moguls
On July 14, 2016 we had an amazing opportunity to participate with Middle School Moguls at the UCI Applied Innovation’s event hosted by AAUW’s Tech Trek.
AAUW’s Mission with Tech Trek is to help “Girls find their passion for high-tech careers at AAUW’s Tech Trek camps. Through hands-on problem solving and encounters with women role models in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), Tech Trek helps girls see their futures while having nonstop fun. Since 1998, AAUW has helped change girls’ lives through Tech Trek, an experiential summer camp backed by research and designed to make STEM exciting and accessible to girls in middle school — the age when research shows girls’ participation in these fields drops. For many girls, the weeklong camp sparks their curiosity and places them on a path toward success” To learn more about AAUW’s amazing work with Tech Trek please visit there site here: http://www.aauw.org/what-we-do/stem-education/tech-trek/.
The day commenced with a kick off by the UCI ANTrepreneur’s Center and exciting hands on activity where the Tech Trek girls made their own personal buttons by a UCI startup, Instabuttons.
Our CEO, Esosa Agbonwaneten collaborated with Gina Heitkamp, CEO of Middle School Moguls in a wonderful discussion with the Tech Trek girls to gain first-hand feedback on the dolls. They shared brilliant ideas on everything from what the dolls should wear to what personalities each doll represents.
